On May 24, 2011, one of Kate’s first engagements upon returning from her honeymoon was to meet with the Obamas.
She accessorized her lovely Reiss Shola dress with this shell necklace.
The necklace appears to be made of elongated, curved pale beige shells speckled with a black pattern. I don’t possess enough knowledge of conchology to identify what type of shells they are. I speculate that they could be some type of cowry shell. I found these and these images of cowrie shells. They both look similar to the pattern on Kate’s necklace.
On May 20, 2017, Kate wore these special edition earrings to her sister’s wedding.
Being that they are special edition, they are not currently available on the website.
They are composed of cushion cut morganite stones rotated 45 degrees and set in a halo of small white diamonds. The post is set in gold. Below this is a bezel diamond suspended above the large oval drop, similar to the posts’ design (morganite surrounded by tiny white diamonds.
Here they are on Kate:
I estimate these cost more than $5,000. Many similar Kiki styles run up to that price.
